One Room Challenge Week 1

Oh boy oh boy.

So today marks the first day of the spring 2021 One Room Challenge that Phil and I will be guest participating in. Today also marks the first day I am going public with my new blog. 😬😬 So please don’t mind the mess around here while I continue to build. You can learn more about our story here

for 8 weeks, starting today, we will be showcasing the transformation of our pantry!

The One Room Challenge is a fun way to support and encourage each other to transform one room in your home. See what others are up to and learn more here One Room Challenge

This type of accountability is exactly what Phil and I need. Can’t even tell you how many unfinished projects we have going on at the moment.

Quick background. We bought our home in 2019 literally closed on it the same week we had our 4th girl 🤪. The whole kitchen needed to be ripped out. (i’ll save the details for another post). The previous kitchen had two deep pantry closets that needed to be re done due to a leaky pipe from the bathroom above. We quickly realized that we could easily build out to create a walk in pantry.

looking so good, We repurposed a french door from another part of the house and turned it into a pocket door.
drywall done! our cute assistant is pleased

We still had a lot of work to do in the kitchen but decided to move in anyway. Unfortunately not long after moving in Covid hit and it put a lot of our plans on hold as things shut down, and we became very busy with our girls and remote learning. As a result our pantry turned into a dumping ground/storage closet over the year while we tried to juggle everything else.

Our plans for the pantry includes mix of built in shelving and cabinet space for storage. We are most likely going to use butcher block for counter tops to both save some money and add some warmth and organic texture in the space.

I am really loving the flutted drawer fronts I am seeing everywhere. Especially the ones Jenna Sue did in her playroom! Check out my mood board!

What do you think? Let me know your thoughts please!

Super excited to join a bunch of other super talented creatives and FINALLY complete this project. Hope you will continue to follow us along the way!!♥️
